Wesley Carter, CCPSC
President - Oil & Gas Division
Wesley Carter has more than 11 years of experience in Process Safety and Risk Management in both the oil and gas and chemical industries. He received both his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and the Mary Kay O'Connor Process Safety Engineering Certificate from Texas A&M University.
After graduation, he started his career working for BP in their North America Gas (NAG) Business Unit as an H&S Advisor, before transitioning into a Facilities/Operations Engineering role. To pursue a career path heavily focused in Process Safety, Wesley took an opportunity with Copano Energy as their Process Safety Manager. Copano Energy was later acquired by Kinder Morgan, and Wesley decided to transition to a privately owned midstream company, Aka Energy, as a Corporate Process Safety Engineer. In his final role before forming Ampeva, Wesley held a position as a Corporate Process Safety Engineer at Arkema, a global leader in specialty chemicals and advanced materials.
In 2017, Wesley formed Ampeva, using his experience and passion for process safety to help clients develop or improve their Process Safety Management and Risk Management Plan programs. In late 2018, Ampeva merged with Robert's consulting company to become Amplify Process Safety, combining both owners' unique skill sets.
Wesley is currently an AIChE- CCPS Certified Process Safety Professional (CCPSC).
President - Chemicals Division
Robert Bartlett has over 25 years of experience in the chemical industry. After receiving a degree in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University in 1993, he spent five years at DuPont working in their Specialty Chemicals division as a project and process engineer.
Seeking to return to his home state of Maine, he accepted a position at Vishay Intertechnology, a major manufacturer of electronic components in Sanford, ME. The following year, Robert moved across the street to take a job at CYRO Industries, a leading manufacturer of acrylic sheet and molding compounds. In these companies, he held various positions in engineering, safety and environmental compliance, and operations.
In 2008, Robert left Corporate America to start a renewable energy company with four partners. Despite the best of intents, the start-up company lost its funding in the Great Recession. This traumatic event was the catalyst for a new consulting business. In the last 10 years, while Robert has helped companies with project management, process engineering, and occupational safety compliance, his main focus has been assisting companies in the improvement of their Process Safety Management and Risk Management Plan programs.
